Easy & Sweet Treats They’ll Love to Give (And You’ll Love To Make)

December is in full swing busy parents know that this time of year can be as taxing as it is joyful. Taking time for a holiday photo moment is one thing but finding time to make homemade treats with your kids… that’s another thing entirely. We know between Christmas shopping, seeing family, and keeping track of your little reindeer, this season can get overwhelming. That’s why we put together this list of quick, easy, and totally kid-friendly holiday baking recipes. Simplicity is everything to us and we want you to have both time and joy this Holiday season.

RECIPE 1: Reindeer Feed by ChexTM

Kid’s know that Santa gets hungry on his long journey around the world but what about his reindeer? Arguably the firepower for Santa’s sleigh need midnight treats as much as the big man himself. We love this recipe from Chex and with just a few (dry) ingredients it is so easy to make.

INGREDIENTS:
1. 3 cups Honey Nut Chex™ cereal
2. 3 cups Chocolate Chex™ cereal
3. 1 1/2 cups peanut butter-filled pretzels
4. 1 cup salted roasted peanuts
5. 1 cup holiday-colored M&M’S® candies

PREPARATION:
In large serving bowl, mix all ingredients.

RECIPE 2: Apple Donut Wreaths by Courtney’s Sweets

Looks can be deceiving, especially when there are sprinkles involved. Don’t let these adorable little Apple Donut Wreaths fool you, these holiday treats are almost entirely apple slices. We love this recipe because it cuts back on sugar, and amps up the fun. Simply cut your apples, pour your chocolate frosting and place your sprinkles and let your little elves do the rest! With sprinkles being the only ingredient that can be dumped, spilled or otherwise made into a mess, it’s safe to say this holiday recipe will require much less clean-up than the rest.

INGREDIENTS:
1. 1 apple cored and sliced
2. Frosting of choice
3. Sprinkles
4. Mini chocolate chips

RECIPE:

RECIPE 3: Sugar Cookies by Sally’s Baking Addiction

Hold the phone and drop the rolling pin. This recipe from Sally’s Baking Addiction only requires 8 ingredients and a mixer. Once you’ve measured and poured this recipe is kid-friendly and easy breezy. Plus they are chewy, delicious and easily as customizable as your usual sugar cookies. In our opinion, if you’re going to bake anything it should be cookies.

INGREDIENTS:
1 and 1/2 cups (188g) all-purpose flour (spoon & leveled)
1 and 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
